The article examines cognitive interest as a key pedagogical condition for the formation of students' civil law literacy (CLL). It emphasizes that without internal cognitive activity, civil law information remains external knowledge and does not transform into the readiness to act legally in real life situations. The article describes pedagogical strategies for stimulating interest in civil law issues. It concludes that systematic work on the development of cognitive interest creates conditions for the transition from legal awareness to CLL as a functional personal quality.
