this article examines the structure and typology of students' problematic social media use. C. Marino's "Problematic Use of Social Media" methodology (adapted by N. A. Sirota, D. V. Moskovchenko, and others) was applied to a sample of 54 students. It was found that 62% of students exhibited a moderate level of problematic social media use; the "negative consequences" scale served as the central criterion for this phenomenon. Hierarchical cluster analysis identified three types: adaptive-emotional, compulsive-emotional, and global-dependent. The results are aimed at understanding the psychological risks of the digital environment in students and developing preventive measures.
