The article is devoted to the national question in Russia. There is a difference between the concepts of nationalism and national extremism (chauvinism). It is concluded that demonstratively dismissive behavior of citizens or foreigners, which violates public peace and community life, customs, morals, and values of the people of the place of residence, can be considered as a manifestation of national extremism and chauvinism.
