The disposal of mineral wool slabs is a pressing environmental and technological issue facing the modern construction industry. This is due to the significant volumes of waste generated during construction, renovation, and demolition of buildings, as well as the limited capacity for their effective recycling. Mineral wool slabs are multicomponent materials, which complicate their recycling and require the development of specialized handling methods. This article analyzes the main methods of mineral wool slab disposal, including burial, recycling, and use as secondary raw materials. The environmental risks associated with the accumulation of such waste are discussed, as well as the prospects for implementing resource-saving technologies. Attention is paid to the need to improve construction waste management systems to reduce environmental impacts and improve environmental safety. The findings highlight the importance of developing effective and cost-effective solutions for mineral wool slab disposal.
This paper examines the feasibility of recycling mineral wool slab production waste, a priority for improving the resource efficiency of construction companies. The physicochemical properties of process residues generated at various stages of thermal insulation material production are examined, and options for their partial or complete return to production are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the technical aspects of using crushed mineral wool scrap as an additive in the formation of new products, as well as the potential for its application in related industries, such as the production of dry construction mixes or asphalt concrete. The article evaluates the impact of recycled raw materials on the quality characteristics of the final product and the environmental performance of production. The theoretical significance of the study lies in its justification for the transition from a linear consumption model to a closed-loop system, which significantly reduces the volume of industrial waste disposal and optimizes raw material costs. The findings confirm the technical feasibility and economic feasibility of integrating mineral wool production waste into a recycling system.
