The article reveals the basic concepts of statistics on employment and unemployment, examines the dynamics of statistics on the number of unemployed registered in state institutions of the employment service of the Orenburg region in 2010–2019, and also forecasts statistics of the unemployed population in the Orenburg region in the pandemic situation.
