This article discusses the linguoculturological competence and methods of its formation in the lessons of the study of folklore. The study of small folklore genres is important not only for the formation of linguocultural competence, but also for understanding the national mentality.
The article is of interest to teachers of literature, since the set of tasks given in it can be used to improve the efficiency of the educational process and motivate students to study when studying the section «Oral folk art» in literature lessons.
