The article discusses the use of creativity by S.A. Yesenin in the implementation of the sociocultural and educational potential of the discipline “Foreign Language”, examples of literary translation into English of various names of the native land (Motherland, Rus', region, country, land, etc.) are given in the poems of S.A. Yesenin, the mission of a foreign language teacher is justified “not only as a bearer of foreign culture, but also as a true patriot, a translator of Russian culture for foreigners.” The materials of the article and the script of the master class can be used in high school, college, university, as well as during cultural and educational events of various formats.
