the article describes the multimedia catalog of videos in English as one of the effective tools of foreign language acquisition in the educational process of non-linguistic higher education institutions. The importance of information technologies application for increasing the learning efficiency is proved. Stages of working with the educational movie are considered and examples of tasks for promotion of perception and speech activity are given. The advantages of video films are expressed in the fact that the multimedia environment has a high information density. Multimedia lessons are more optimal and effective, as they contribute to a better perception of educational material by cadets, who understand connections and relations of objects of study. Video materials develop cadets' cognitive interest, teach them the ability to generalize, analyze, compare information, activate the creative activities of cadets.
