The article presents a poem of his own composition, written by the author in the genre of "Elegy". The article is devoted to philosophical understanding of the Elegy as a lyric genre. On the basis of the conducted research the author draws the Elegy, the theme of which is reflections on the vanity of earthly existence, immersion in own inner world.

Arkady Kuleshov's poetry is characterized by a deep philosophical meaning, close attention to the spiritual world of man. A. Kuleshov acts as a coherent of the epochs, the Earth and the Cosmos, he is deeply aware of his mission, responsibility for the fate of life on Earth, for the future. The purpose of the work is to study the problems of the elegiac works of Arkady Kuleshov. The paper considers the «merging» of features of various poetic formations in one genre – philosophical, meditative elegy, shows the transformation of elegy into a meditation poem, a reasoning poem, a philosophical monologue poem.
