The article discusses the need to improve the methodology of modern students learning mathematics. The author analyzes the results of the experimental teaching for two years, which is based on a comprehensive system of learning based on a synthesis of the implementation of the basic educational program and the supplementary education to students.

The paper presents the elements of teaching problems with parameters. The approach to the introduction of the concept «parameter» is discussed. The base of exercises, different types of problems and some heuristics are described.
