The article examines the role of verbal teaching methods in activating the cognitive activity of students in secondary vocational education. At the Bryukhovoetsky multidisciplinary technical college, a study was conducted on the influence of lively pedagogical speech, conversation, and problem-based explanation on the academic motivation of economic profile students. It is shown that the integration of traditional verbal techniques with interactive technologies contributes to the growth of a value-based attitude towards learning and professional self-determination.
