The article presents an overview of the design features of foreign-made light helicopters used for initial flight training. The analysis of the stages of pilot training in the aviation centers of the USA, France and Great Britain is carried out. The conclusion is made about the main trends in the development of helicopter construction in the field of design and application of light helicopters.
Based on the competency-based approach to training, the professional activity of a graduate of a military flight school is considered, a system of key competencies of a pilot and elements of a professional flight activity profile are presented.
The paper examines the process of integrating the competency-based and supra-professional approach in training cadets of a flight school in order to improve the efficiency of the quality of military education. An example of a system of formed competencies is given, taking into account the aspects of the approaches considered using the example of mastering radio equipment.
