In this article the basic income trends in foreign direct investment in the country with a developed, developing and transition economies. The analysis of the inflow of foreign investments into the Russian economy, identified priority sectors of the economy from the perspective of attracting foreign investment, the analysis of the inflow of foreign investment in the territorial aspect, identifies the main challenges to the inflow of foreign capital into Russia.

The article considers the issues of the export of capital from Russia in various forms. The emphasis is on reflection not only the negative sides of this process, but also the search for the possible positive conse-quences.
