The paper deals with the questions of current state customs-tariff regulation, its formation, realization and perfection in the frame of economic security. The author considers problems and ways to perfect custom-tariff regulation for creation of favorable conditions in in foreign trade activity.

This article analyzes the foreign trade of the Smolensk region, examines the statistics of foreign trade turnover in the region and in Russia as a whole, and examines the structure of exports and imports of the Smolensk region for 2014-2019. Also, the article describes some of the shortcomings of foreign trade in the region and ways to eliminate them.

The issue of efficiency in calculating, ensuring payment, and the economic essence of customs payments is very acute today, since the creation and functioning of the EAEU, to which the Russian Federation is a member, requires high professionalism and efficiency from its state bodies, and interaction with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union involves the use of high technologies and standards of work. Customs fees play a huge role in ensuring the security of foreign economic activity.
