This article is devoted to the actual problem of improving the efficiency of the educational process at the University with the help of information technology. In the center of attention – features of application of the package of the applied programs allowing to optimize educational process at preparation of the expert. The use of freely distributed software that contributes to the formation of probabilistic and statistical culture of the student is illustrated. It is emphasized that information technologies in teaching stochastics will be useful only when they are closely intertwined with traditional learning technologies.
In work the possibility of use of freely extended JASP application program package on classroom and out-of-class occupations when studying the course "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" is illustrated.
The paper outlines the conditions for improving the training of specialists by means of computer technologies in teaching stochastics. The need for students to independently master unfamiliar software products using information from the Internet is emphasized. The use of freely distributed Past software for single-sample and two-sample t-criteria is illustrated for the statistical database presented in the metric scale.
