The article deals with symbolic functions of flower names in A. A. Akhmatova and N. S. Gumilev poetry. In the course of the study, there were found stable associations connected with the names of flowers in the poetic individual styles of two authors. Identified associations were classified according to the types of literary meanings in linguopoetics. The authors find that emotional function of phytonyms in individual styles of A. A. Akhmatova and N. S. Gumilev's is associated with the symbolic expression of various love feeling shades, with the expression of symbolic meanings that characterize the inner world of the lyric hero: love confusion, solitude, sadness and the rebirth of the soul. In the poetry of N. S. Gumilev, the substantial function of flowers designations serves for creation details of literary images: ideal world, sea element, abstract entities (perfection, unattainability of the ideal, etc.).
