In the offered article the analysis of the current approach to the environmental component in the economic policy of the state. The basic preconditions for the transition to green economy in Russia. The article con-siders the essence and importance of green economy as areas and effective hundred-beater of develop-ment in the post-crisis period.

Author analyzed the relationship between social entrepreneurship and green economy through the operationalization of their definitions. The article provides actual case studies of successful international and domestic projects of social entrepreneurship in the field of ecology. The authors have done a synthesis of the main trends in the development of social entrepreneurship in the field of "green economy".

The concepts of green and circular economy are actively discussed at various political platforms at all levels. Decisions are made and strategies for the implementation of «green initiatives» are being developed. All this activates discussions about the problems of sustainable development, economic growth and the transition to a green and (or) circular economy. Scientists are actively researching various aspects of this phenomenon. At the same time, a unified approach to understanding the es-sence of these phenomena has not yet been developed. The purpose of the article is to systematize research in the field of sustainable development of the green and circular economy, clarify the essence of the highlighted concepts, and choose the optimal path of development of the Russian Federation in this direction.
