The article is devoted to the problem of the effectiveness of teaching mathematics at the Air Force Academy. In this regard, the role of the teaching staff in the educational process is considered. A combination of two approaches is proposed when conducting lectures, problematic and illustrative and ex-planatory. The combination of these two methods, on the one hand, allows you to use their advantages and meet the time allotted for the lecture, and on the other hand, activate the cadets to learn knowledge directly at the lecture.
