The role of social policy is revealed as an important component of the state’s internal strategy aimed at ensuring sustainable development of society and a high quality of life for citizens. The article discusses the main functions of social policy, as well as the principles on which it is based. Financing of social policy is shown by subsections of the budget classification and by the structure of the directions of funds.
