This article examines the topicality of the use of modern Internet resources in teaching a foreign language. The necessity and effectiveness of the use of web-technologies in the study of a foreign language both at school and individually is illustrated by the author. In addition, the author analyses different points of view on the use of technologies in teaching foreign languages and points out the holistic approach to the issue, demonstrating examples of the effectiveness of modern technologies in teaching foreign languages.

The article presents the aim of Internet-resources in the process of development of foreign-language competence of the students. This phenomenon is considered in the article from different angles in comparative aspect, here is also analyzed types of Internet¬resources, their roles and advantages. The authors also pay attention to changes in pedagogical approaches to the use of technologies in education.
