The article contains an analysis of the inner monologue of Prince Andrew, his axiological and ideological attitudes revealing in the literary hero the features of the Napoleonic paradigm transforming into an archetype. The author presents an analysis of first published multilingual diaries of the Slovak Tolstoy’s follower Albert Shkarvan from the late 19 – early 20 centuries according to the forming of the worldview of this outstanding personality. A. Shkarvan served as a link between Western European and Russian religious and philosophical thought. Shkarvan’s different interpretation of Tolstoy’s philosophy as well as the characterization of the mentality of the Russian and Slovak peoples are presented.
