The article discusses the concept of adaptation, describes the forms of adaptation and the main adaptation stages that a foreign student undergoes in new socio-cultural conditions. The results of a survey conducted at the preparatory faculty of Tambov State Technical University on various aspects of adaptation of foreign students are presented.
