For the first time, the article analyzes the most authoritative almanac of Russian Constantinople "Farewell" (1923), also known as "Thank you" ("Spassibo"). The beautifully illustrated edition was published in Russian, French and English. It reflected the significant results of the intensive social and cultural life of the Russian emigration in the Turkish capital over a short historical period (1920–1923). Particular attention is paid to the large international team of authors that in a short time managed to show the specific features of the first center of the Russian diaspora in the almanac.

The almanac "Foreign call", published in 1921 and 1925, recorded the main signs and ideas of the social, cultural, literary life of Russian Constantinople. The editions of the almanac of different years reflect the peculiar evolution of the attitude of Russian refugees to emigration, problems of their self-identification, interest in oriental motives. But the idea of the high culture of exiles and their positive influence on Turkish society remains unchanged.

The author analyzes Vladimir Nabokov's translation activities and his contribution to translation studies. The features of his approach to translation are examined, including techniques such as Russification and literalism. The influence of Nabokov on the literary dialogue between different cultures and the preservation of connection with the native language and culture through translations are analyzed.
