The paper shows the role of social indicators in region development. The social indicators of Tula region in 1997-2005 are analyzed. The economic basis for the strategy of the future socio-economic development of the regions, based on state and business cooperation is studied.

The article discusses the impact of the demographic situation on inflation on the example of data from the Central Federal District and the Smolensk region. The analysis made it possible to conclude that there is a direct relationship between inflation and the population. The rise in the standard of living of the population also contributes to higher inflation. The influence of these factors is manifested through an increase in the money supply in circulation.

The article analyzes the socio-economic situation of Uzbekistan at the present stage. The conditions of economic growth and structural changes are assessed: social policy, development of the social sphere, scientific, technological and innovative development, analysis of foreign economic activity. Special attention is paid to the program of the strategy of action adopted for 2017–2021.
