This article examines the importance of the role of mentors in the learning process, the characteristics of food technology, and the methods mentors use to teach effectively. Through case studies and research, we demonstrate how mentors contribute to student success.

The article represents the experience of preparing students for competitive events of the movement “Young Professionals» from 2014 up to the present days. The introduction of a mentoring model is necessary for the high-quality preparation of participating students to compete at championships of various levels and for the professional development of an expert mentor. The novelty lies in the implementation of the mentoring model as an effective way to establish the relationship between an expert mentor and a student participant in the conditions of preparation and participation in the activities of the Young Professionals movement.
