The paper is devoted to moral and psychological condition of Syrian legions of the Roman army in the I century A.D. This research examines the works of ancient Roman writers and historians about the legions' daily life and the soldiers' behavior during military campaigns. Roman literature describes the legionnaires as well provided by money and undisciplined people. Nevertheless, in I century A.D. the Roman army won multiple wars in the Near East. This fact allows to suggest that the image of the Syrian legions created by Roman historians was a stereotype.
In the context of modern geopolitical changes and the increasing role of aviation in ensuring national security, the formation of patriotism among aviation specialists upon arrival at a new duty station is of particular importance. In recent years, there has been an active rotation of aviation personnel in connection with the reorganization of the armed forces and the introduction of new technologies. For example, in 2021, large-scale movements of aviation units to strategically important regions were carried out, which required rapid adaptation and high motivation from specialists. These processes are accompanied not only by professional, but also by socio-psychological challenges that require strengthening patriotic values to maintain combat capability and morale of personnel.
