This article focuses on the modern aspects of the concept of «inducement to use narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues». The text analyzes in detail the key aspects of legal regulation related to this concept. The normative acts influencing the sphere of control over drugs and psychotropic substances are highlighted, the nuances affecting the counteraction to the inclination to consume these substances and the protection of society from their negative conse-quences are highlighted.

The article discusses problematic issues related to the implementation of operational investigative activities to identify and suppress the smuggling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances carried out by international mail. It is noted that high-quality recording of the results obtained is necessary for their subsequent use in deciding whether to initiate a criminal case, as well as in the course of proving the circumstances of the commission of a crime. The author also draws attention to the problem of population narcosis and the need to counteract the illegal supply of narcotic drugs from foreign countries.
