The article deals with the problem of developing imagination of senior preschool children. The effectiveness of using non-traditional drawing techniques was analyzed and such advantages as alternative ways of developing the child's imagination, the possibility of developing the skills of dragging the general comparatively to the details, the opportunity to start the child's subjective position in the activity were identified. The article is of practical importance for teachers and parents who are interested in developing children's imagination through non-traditional drawing techniques.

The article examines the psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development of creative imagination in six-year-old children. The results of an experimental study conducted on the basis of a preschool educational institution are analyzed. The effectiveness of using non-traditional drawing techniques and collective forms of creative activity to activate the imagination of senior preschoolers is substantiated. Special attention is paid to the principle of continuity in the development of imagination at the stage of transition from preschool to school education.
