The article examines age and gender, territorial, and occupational structure of the population in the Republic of Korea. It describes demographic problems the country faces today. The author makes dynamical analysis of these problems’ reasons and puts forward an assumption about their possible influence on Korea’s future development.

The population aging that has been actively taking place in recent years and the consequences caused by this phenomenon are of increasing interest to scientists and researchers from various fields of scientific knowledge. The relevance of issues related to old age and its perception in the public consciousness, stereotypical ideas about old age, as well as social problems associated with old age, is increasing. This article examines old age as a social problem, as well as ways to solve it on the example of the city of Moscow.
