The article discusses destination criteria, which attract film studios and encourage them to produce films on the territory of destination. Destination factors and facilities, which are necessary to attract film projects, are considered. The article examines the definition of icon as a movie’s symbolic content. Examples of approaches of different countries to promote a destination as a film set location are discussed.
