The technique of definition of grains tops on a working surface of a tool is considered in the paper. Under the action of various processes of wear, the distribution of grains tops forming the relief of the working surface of abrasive tool is constantly changing. Features of formation of a working surface of circles of various characteristics are shown at grinding on various depths. Also the quantity of the grains, which have left a trace on the processed surface is defined, law of their distribution for the first time is established. The results of the research of a working surface are resulted at flat grinding of stainless steel Р6М5. Efficiency increase of production is proved.
Developing a wide range of methods for analyzing and diagnosing the properties of materials of various dimensions, including the submicron structure of metals and alloys, is a key challenge in modern materials science. A key area of research for these methods is increasing the resolution of equipment. One such promising method for studying material properties is probe microscopy, which allows for the analysis and observation of the surface of material samples in three-dimensional coordinates. In this study, scanning tunneling microscopy was used to examine fractures of rail steel specimens tested for impact strength.
The article presents the results of studies of the composition, properties and structure of the bushing and pin of the rear spring of a truck operated in low-temperature climatic conditions of the North. The levels of hardness and microhardness of the hardened layer and the central part of the pin are determined. The surface profiles of worn parts before and after operation are shown.
