The verb TO SEEK and its derivates in Tyumen business writing of the second half of the 18th century
The specificity of the seeking for an object and a person situation relevant for administrative and legal communication cause the frequent use of the verb to seek and verbal nouns naming different stages of investigative processes in cursive business texts. The author of the article explores the use of the verb to seek and its deverbatives in the regional clerical community, documents taking for consideration all the stylistical peculiarities (genre of a document) from the point of view of historical dictionaries and the Russian national corpus materials.
The adjectives "creativnyj" and "tvorcheskij" are often considered synonyms, interchangeable in any context. Using the Normative Explanatory Dictionary of Russian as the State Language and the tools of the Russian National Corpus, the article explicates the functional differences between the two adjectives, which are mainly due to the relatively recent borrowing from English into Russian of the adjective "creativnyj" widespread in the 21st-century Russian.
