In linguistic literature, it is believed that the phenomenon of paronyms are words that are identical or similar in sound, but which have fundamentally different meanings. And such a broad definition will confuse paronymy with paronomasia. Thus, paronomasia, unlike paronymy, is not a natural and regular phenomenon. Paronomasia is a phenomenon represented by occasional cases of non-normative word formation and author’s word creation. The study of the correct use of paronyms and the differences between paronyms and paronomasia in the modern Russian language is of great importance. This allows you to avoid lexical errors caused by mixing paronyms and paronomasia.
