The article discusses the main aspects of problems of disabled people, causing the need for social work. Various types of social services that are provided for this category of population are disclosed. The authors provide data from an empirical research aimed at identifying the degree of satisfaction of people with disabilities with the provided social services.

The article is devoted to the current problem of socially oriented activities of non-profit organizations. The concept of the "third" sector is revealed, the role of socially oriented nonprofit organizations in the field of social services for citizens is determined. State initiatives for the development of nonprofit organizations and the inclusion of socially oriented nonprofit organizations in the process of providing social services are traced.

The organization of non-stationary social services for elderly citizens at the regional level is discussed in the article. The market of social services is analyzed: the status of suppliers, the range of services, dynamics of volumes. Empirical data characterize the features of the provision of social services in state and non-state organizations. The excess of demand for certain types of services over their supply is stated. The conclusion is about the necessity of active involvement of non-state social services providers in the sphere of social services to better meet the needs of elderly citizens.

Nonprofit organizations play a unique role in the welfare of citizens. They are in constant search of the strategic points where the available NPO funds can make a significant difference and improve the lives as well as the welfare of the citizens. This paper examines the work of socially oriented non-profit organizations in the Ural macro-region.
