The article examines the poetry that arose after the outbreak of hostilities in the Donbass and after the start of a special military operation. The motive of the poems is determined. Attention is focused on images. The poetry of this time asserts the idea that Russia is fighting for its existence, for the right to live on its native land, for traditional values. Poets demonstrate the courage of Russian soldiers, their willingness to lay down their heads for a righteous cause. They are the salt of the earth. They are opposed by those who have lost their metaphysical connection with their land, with the country.

The fundamental elements that make up the content of military-political work at the present stage of the development of wars are considered. It is postulated that modern war has reached a different level of its development, in which the information component has become dominant. In these conditions, the activity of military-political bodies is the most important component of the formation of morale and motivation of any serviceman. The degree of assimilation of political knowledge by cadets and the development of professional and other skills necessary for further service depends on the organization and professionalization of military-political work. The main problems facing the Armed Forces in the field of military-political activity are shown.
