The article discusses the significance of studying the socio-psychological adaptation process of first-year students and identifies factors that contribute to their successful adaptation. To identify new characteristics of socio-psychological adaptation and opportunities for improving its effectiveness, the authors conducted a study with 68 first-year students at the KubSU branch in Slavyansk-on-Kuban. Educational success and atmosphere within the educational team were measured using the author's test and "Rogers-Diamond's Methodology for Diagnosing Socio-Psychological Adaptation" (adapted by Snegireva).The authors presented findings that allow us to draw the conclusion that a high level of emotional well-being, positive self-perception, and self-confidence among first-year students contribute to their successful socio-psychological adaptation within the student environment.
