The paper considers the specificity of public organization “The union of pensioners of Russia” in the small city of the Russian Federation on the effectiveness of pension reform and pension coverage of citizens by carrying out sociological research.

The article discusses the effectiveness of the use of art-therapeutic methods in correcting the anxiety of older people. Taking into account the advantages and features of art therapy in gerontopsichological practice, an art-therapeutic program was developed. The study was conducted with 40 respondents aged 55-80 years. Analysis of the results showed the developed program really positively affects the well-being, mood of the elderly, the level of anxiety decreases.
