The article considers the practical implementation of one of the fundamental principles of military-Patriotic education of modern youth. Its essence is that in the process of education, it is necessary first of all to develop a positive perception of the historical and cultural heritage of Russia, its spiritual values and traditions. The specifics of implementing this principle by preserving family, intergenerational memory of ancestors within the same family is the content of this work.
