The article discusses the problem of preventing emotional burnout among medical staff based on an existential approach. Special attention is paid to the value-semantic sphere of personality as a possible psychological resource associated with the severity of the components of professional burnout. The empirical basis of the study was based on data from a survey of 146 medical staff. To assess burnout, K. Maslach and S. Jackson's methodology was used, adapted by N. E. Vodopyanova, and M. Rokich's "Value Orientations" methodology was used to study the value sphere. Statistical data processing was carried out using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The results of the study showed that individual terminal and instrumental values are statistically associated with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduction of personal achievements and an integral indicator of burnout. The conclusion is made about the prospects of preventive work aimed at understanding professional values, identifying value contradictions and restoring the subjective meaning of medical activity.
