The article «My Tambov Path to Pushkin» shows the experience of using the contextual approach in studying literature in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. The purpose of the article is to consider the features of using this technology when studying the writer's biography. The personal attitude and involvement of the author in the fate of the poet and some facts of his life is revealed. Particular attention is paid to the study of the personality and creativity of A.S. Pushkin through the use of various sources, one of which is the book "Tambov path to Pushkin", written by N.M. Gordeev and V.P. Peshkov. Some of the techniques and methods of work used in the practice of a teacher are described: an intellectual game (grades 5–6), research tasks (grades 9–11).
