The zoomorphic metaphor "man – cat" plays an important role in the linguistic picture of the world, but there is little information about its use in Russian and English. The aim of the study is to compare the common and distinctive features of the image of man as a cat in these languages. It is assumed that due to differences in geography and culture, zoomorphic metaphors of "man – cat" in Russian and English languages will describe different features of a person.
