Microplastic pollution has become an urgent global environmental issue. Russia’s Arctic, including the territory of Yakutia, is becoming increasingly subjected to microplastic pollution. This article reviews current scientific literature on the possible influence of microplastic contamination on people’ health in Yakutia. The major Siberian rivers, especially the Lena River, is believed to transport microplastics into the Arctic Ocean. Furthermore, this review article discusses the nature and the ways of particle accumulation in the Arctic ecosystems and food chains. Toxicological studies are reported to reveal microplastics induce oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular damage. In this regard personalized medicine can be helpful in assessing people’s exposure to microplastic contamination based on multiple factors (e.g., genetic, metabolic, and lifestyle). Interdisciplinary studies combining environmental monitoring and biomedical analysis are urgently needed in Yakutia to evaluate the real risks and develop prevention strategies.

The article presents the results of introduction experiments with two rare shrub species, Rhododendron dauricum and Ribes dikuscha, under the sharply continental climate of Yakutia. A key variable in the study was the comparison between the native habitat conditions (Maysky District: January mean −42°C, July mean +15°C, mountainous terrain) and the introduction site (Suntar District: January mean −33…−35°C, July mean +17…+19°C, plateau relief). Over three growing seasons (2022–2024), Rhododendron dauricum demonstrated a highly successful introduction outcome, showing stable annual development, increased flowering duration (from 8 to 15 days), a total height increment of 22 cm (from 24 cm to 46 cm), and leaf dimensions approaching natural values. The plant exhibited high frost hardiness, retained its natural growth habit, and showed no signs of pest or disease damage. Ribes dikuscha displayed satisfactory vegetative adaptation but failed to achieve generative development (no flowering or fruiting) during the five-year observation period, despite strong frost resistance and disease tolerance.

The article describes the process of creating a board game that will help people learn more about the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The game is in lotto format, but an important difference is that instead of numbers on the card there will be images or names that answer questions on the topic. The questions are divided into categories and levels of difficulty, which makes it interesting and accessible for players of all ages, from children to adults. An important aspect of the game is cultural significance, which is based on the traditions, customs and language of the peoples of Yakutia. This will help maintain and strengthen contact with our people and our ancestors. In addition, numerous scientific studies confirm that the inclusion of national and ethno-cultural elements in everyday life contributes not only to personal development, but also significantly increases motivation and interest in learning the native language and culture, which in the long term helps to preserve and increase the cultural heritage of the people. Thus, this game becomes not just entertainment, but an important educational tool that brings people together and supports cultural identity.
