Abstract. The paper focuses on a model of developing jazz repertory technique on specialized saxophone classes at the higher education institutions. The author analyzes Russian and foreign jazz study guides concerning text interpretation; discusses theoretical questions on jazz compositions’ rendition; provides recommendations on performing compositions close to their originals.
