The Article is devoted to the processes of development of higher education in Togliatti and the formation of scientific schools of Togliatti State University.

Article opens history of formation of military engineering education in the Samara region. The author focus-es special attention in article on training of qualified specialists for domestic armed forces, and also use of potential of the high-prepared engineering shots transferred to the reserve for a national economy of the USSR and the Russian Federation.

Article opens creation history in the city of Tolyatti of the educational direction on training of specialists for welding production from training of students before development and deployment on welding productions of modern technologies and the equipment. Indissoluble communication of the faculty of university and students is shown during process of training and formation of high quality experts in welding production.

The article deals with the formation and development of student's amateur theater groups Togliatti Polytech-nic Institute in the period from 1969 to 1980. Special attention is paid review of the activities of these crea-tive teams as "Mirror", "Ordinary Miracle". In the study is based on the publication of different years of the newspaper "Polytechnic".

The article is devoted to the study of the history of formation and development of the system of training of electronics engineers in Togliatti Polytechnic Institute.

The article describes the stages of development of technical education in Togliatti, his connection with the development of the city. The author shows the various activities of the teachers and students Togliatti Poly-technic Institute, its influence on the formation of the intellectual potential of the city.

The article considers the category of "social labour potential", which was developed in the social Sciences in the last three decades. The author draws attention to the fact that in terms of structural changes in society this interpretation is inadequate and proposes to analyze the socio-labour potential as a dynamic character-istic which depends on the labor market, and quality of life. Based on the results of sociological research discusses the importance of the educational status for the formation of socio-labour potential employees of scientific-technical and industrial spheres.
