The paper analyses teacher’s professional activity components including the influence of professional qualities and pedagogical skills upon the process of teacher’s personality formation. The teacher’s personality role in the process of education is being discussed.

In the article deals with the basic methodological principles of teaching and learning a foreign language at a non-language university. The key components of motivation are analyzed and on their base the content of education is projected. A foreign language is viewed as a means, and as a way to improve professional competence.
