The article describes the blockchain technology, discusses the peculiarities of its application, shows the possibilities of using blockchain-technologies in the financial sector, analyzes the main advantages and problems of using this technology in the financial sector, suggests ways to solve the existing problems.

In the article, based on the analysis of sociological surveys conducted in Russia, an assessment of financial literacy level of the population is given. The authors make a comparative analysis of financial behavior models of the country citizens, reveal the main reasons for the low level of financial literacy of the Russian population and the ways of overcoming them.
