The article discusses the role and place of legal regulation in the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation. The author of the publication notes that, actually, the system of legal regulation has a hierarchical structure consisting of a number of levels: federal, regional and local. Some difficulties and obstacles for the organization of investment activity are revealed.
