The author discusses the consideration relevance of acoustical characteristics calculation methods for rooms of various destination. These methods will be used in students’ course projects and take into account a wide range of building materials which provide acoustic comfort for people. The physical laws used to solve such problems are studied within the relevant sections of general physics course and structural physics. Their application will ensure interdisciplinary connection between students’ physical education and their future professional building activities.

Color plays a significant role in developing architectural concepts of color schemes for city ensembles and separate buildings. Therefore it seems useful to introduce students majoring in civil engineering to the basics of color science and with its physics component in particular. The author considers objective and subjective features of color and discusses a model of color sensations formation which includes light source, an observed object, and a visual system of a human being. The paper deals with some factors that affect the color image quality of the observed object and suggests its physical interpretation. Some physiological aspects of color vision are also considered.

The paper focuses on some issues of basic physics for building acoustics that are not included (or just mentioned) in the general physics program. Taking into consideration the importance of building elements (thickness, material, presence of cavities) for acoustics environment formation the author considers the processes of acoustic waves interaction with solid bodies which affect people’s acoustic comfort in premises of various applications. The paper deals with phase and energy relations resulting from acoustic waves transfer from one medium into another with regard to sound environmental resistance. Reverberation processes affecting acoustic fields quality are also considered.

Fragments of constructional climatology, viewed as the issues forming microclimate of the premises and providing for the conditions of daily life activities comfortable for people are considered. This approach taken within the frames of the course «Molecular Physics» may promote more respectable attitude of the students of Civil Engineering Faculty to Physics as a school subject.
