The paper assesses the quality of fire-resistant fabrics for special clothing welders, describes new and improved existing methods for determining fire resistance and tissue resistance to sparks and molten metal splashes. The results of the tests give expert evaluation of the suitability of investigated fabrics for clothing welders.

The paper presents the results of the work, in which the following tasks were solved: - Selection of quality metrics and investigation of the properties of fabrics for special purposes, - Development of methods for assessment of safety performance and quality fabrics for special clothing; - Development and use of alternative methods of research of protective properties of tissues; - Conducting comparative performance on the basis of the developed method for determining the thermal insulation properties of fabrics for clothing workers of oil and gas complex.
