Paper is devoted to the questions of assessment of socio-economic development of agro-industrial complex in transition to an innovative type of economy

The article explores the role of crop agriculture, analyzed the basic use of sown areas, yield and gross yield of major crops in the organizations of the agricultural sector of Krasnodar Region, the main directions of development of agriculture in the region.

The authors evaluate the modern conditions and problems of agro-industrial complex of the Krasnodar region. The authors determine the strategy of development of the complex, based on the implementation of the economic mechanism for sustainable development. According to the authors, the mechanism should include two interconnected blocks: the system of state regulation and support sustainable development and the mechanism of market-competitive self-organization of the reproduction on all levels of the complex. The result of implementation of the strategy will increase the efficiency of functioning of the regional agro-industrial complex, food and social security of the Krasnodar region and the country as a whole.

The article describes and analyzes the priority directions of state support for infrastructure development of the agricultural sector in the framework of implementation of the regional and departmental target programs, as well as reviewed the procedures provided by the state for the expansion and prosperity of agriculture.

Generalizing scientific approaches to the definition of the efficient use of government subsidies, the author proposes his own version of evaluating the effectiveness of state support agricultural producers.
